Fuel Oil Sulfur limit reminder as from 1st January 2012

According with current Marpol Annex VI Sulfur limit as from 1st January 2012 is set to be 3.5% from currently 4.5%.

It is advisable ship managers to carefully plan fuel oil orders in order not to have bunkers with 4.5% after 1/1/2012.

Vessels trading between countries ratified MARPOL and consuming FO with sulfur content above 3.5% after 1/1/2012 will be in violation of MARPOL and they will prone to PSC remarks or statutory deficiencies.

We advise Ch.Eng to be able to demonstrate through bunker recipes, consummations reports and engine log books vessels compliance with above requirement.
